Pan Dulce Bakery serves tasty Mexican pastries, cakes and ice cream for the residents of Houston. Jose, owner of Pan Dulce Bakery, has been whipping up these treats for a year now. The business operates out of a strip center located in a busy section of north Houston. Jose employs three full-time and one part-time employee, and plans to hire an additional employee in the future but is focused on his current staff now. Jose came to Liftfund, America’s largest micro lender, for a loan to help grow his business. He attended a presentation that LiftFund hosted and became intrigued that LiftFund could help his bakery. He applied for a micro loan and received an approval shortly after his application was processed. Since his opening, a year ago, Jose continues to have steady business and focuses on having the freshest pastries in town. He used his loan to purchase additional baking ingredients to bake more Mexican pastries and cakes to sell to his customers, and pay wages for his four-member team. Another piece of his LiftFund loan paid for outdoor patio tables and chairs so guests can enjoy their pastries outside.
